The best of western lemon tea, reimagined in Japan. This is what this summer blend offers, based on black teas sourced in India and Vietnam. First, we observe that the leaves have been cut and then rolled up on themselves. They are adorned with an elegant licorice color with rusty reflections. A frank scent of tangy candy takes hold of us as soon as we dive into it. In fact: they are studded with citrus peel and peach leaves. These have been added to the composition for their natural fruity aromas mingling with the liquor, once the tea has been infused. The infused leaves, for their part, offer a chocolate hue and scents that remind us of the original American "iced tea", one of the flagship drinks to quench your thirst on hot summer days.
The brewed tea comes in the form of a red-orange liqueur. On the nose, citrus essential oils strike us with their aromatic power. This freshness is all the more reminiscent of certain drinks such as the Mojito cocktail. When tasted, the very lemony attack strikes us first, followed by an interesting acidity. The final note betrays the malty of black teas and leaves a subtly astringent length in the mouth. The spiciness of citrus fruits continues to be felt in the subsequent aromatic development. A delicious souvenir from two nations: England, with its full-bodied black tea, accompanied by citrus juice or zest, but also the United States with their iced teas served with lemon slices.
