ABOUT KAKEGAWA TEA GARDEN
ABOUT KAKEGAWA TEA GARDEN

This Kakegawa tea is grown on the highest peaks. The gardens are located in the city of Kakegawa, located in Shizuoka prefecture and considered the best producing region for so-called "Fukamushi" type teas, with long steaming. The Higashiyama area, which lies at the foot of the famous Mount Awagadake, is famous for its plantations which have been pruned to form the Japanese character (Kanji) "茶" meaning "tea". The leaves of this JAS tea have been carefully chosen for their qualities from producers in the Higashiyama region. Taking advantage of their long experience in producing green tea for many years, they have produced an exquisite black tea that is both smooth and deep.
