JAPANESE SCENTED CANDLES
Kodo (“way of incense”) has been part of Japanese culture for over a thousand years. Kodo began as an offering to purify the burial tablets of ancestors in temples, and eventually became popular among the upper class as sora-daki, a style of incense where the fragrance fills the entire room. Aromatic wood and plants such as agarwood, clove and sandalwood were ground into aromatic powders. Over time, kodo's horizons have expanded with new scents, and today's Japanese have developed a keen sense of which aromas are best suited to their kitchens and rooms.
The Japanese consider “no color or scent” the default and place the highest value on serene, pure scents: the delicate aroma of soba noodles; the dry, fruity scent of sake; the fresh, green scent on a walk through a mossy bamboo forest. In ancient temples, the scent of fragrant woods complements the centuries-old wood in a harmony that soothes the soul. We believe that the exquisite fragrances produced by this long Japanese tradition will inspire the senses of people from all countries and cultures, and thus KITCHIBE was born. KITCHIBE offers you the most beautiful scents of Japan.

KITCHIBE ROOM DIFFUSERS
KITCHIBE is a new home fragrance brand created through the collaboration between three expert companies: Shiono Koryo, a Japanese fragrance company with a history of over 200 years; Housen-gama, producer of traditional Mino ceramics and Qurz Inc., company founded by designer Takumi Shimamura. The KITCHIBE project combines Japanese craftsmanship, organic design and iconic scents. Six flavors have been developed: SAKURA, WASHI, MATCHA, YUKI, KITCHIBE and YUZU. Each features an original design inspired by the climate, history and aesthetic of Japan.
KITCHIBE's specially designed ceramic diffusers are the result of an extensive collaboration between our designer and our artisans, who worked together to achieve the standard production they expected. These ceramic products recreate the organic patterns found on stones in nature. The clay is liquefied and poured into a mold to shape it without losing its natural pattern.
