This tea is made from premium grade Taiwanese Oolong tea scented with Amanatsu, yellow-citrus orange fruit. 

The delicate balance of sweet and sour flavors makes this tea well suited for drinking as iced-tea in summer. Dong Ding type oolong tea from Taiwan flavored with Japanese mandarin Amanatsu. At nose, its golden aspect brings out mandarin aromas perfectly balanced with the oolong tea, freshness and delicacy. The citrus comes to support the naturally fruity and floral scent of the oolong tea with fineness, with neither acidity nor bitterness. An easy to drink oolong, also excellent in iced tea.

The texture of frozen tangerine makes this smoothie a cool and enjoyable drink.

Recommended teas: AMANATSU OOLONG, DACHA

Ingredients (for 2 persons):
Recommended tea 3g, Water 150ml, Fresh or canned mandarins 150g, Fruits of your choice, Ice cubes


Preparation:

  1. Freeze the mandarin flesh.
  2. In a decanter, prepare a cold infusion iced tea using 3g of green tea per 150ml of water.
  3. Mix together the frozen tangerine and the iced tea.
  4. Pour the smoothie into glasses with the ice cubes
  5. Decorate with fresh fruit.
    Tip: If you are using canned tangerines, you can freeze the fruit directly with the syrup.

What is Oolong tea or blue-green tea?

Oolong tea is a semi-oxidized tea. Unlike green tea (unoxidized) and black tea (fully oxidized), Oolong leaves undergo partial oxidation ranging from 10% to 70%. It all begins with the stirring of freshly harvested leaves in bamboo baskets. This step, which can last several hours, determines the oxidation level and the final aromatic profile. There are generally two main categories:

  • Lightly oxidized Oolongs: Similar to green tea, they reveal floral notes (lily of the valley, jasmine) and a smooth texture.
  • Highly oxidized or roasted Oolongs: These offer more complex aromas of honey, ripe fruit, hazelnut, or precious wood.
  • The secret of oxidation: Depending on the producer's expertise, oxidation varies from 10% to 70%.

The Art of Infusion: The Gaiwan and Gong Fu Cha

To enhance a fine Taiwanese tea, the traditional Gong Fu Cha method is ideal. It uses a gaiwan (or zhong), a covered bowl of Chinese origin.

Why use a gaiwan?
