Teapot
This teapot complements both a Japanese table setting and a contemporary interior thanks to its matte texture, which highlights the natural quality of Tokoname clay.
The refinement of yakishime, a firing process without glaze
Unlike traditional red clay teapots, its surface is not covered with any vitrified glaze: it is fired at a high temperature, leaving the clay exposed. Depending on how the flame reaches the piece during firing, unique gradients and reddish hues ("hi-iro") appear, giving each teapot a singular character.
A porous clay that softens flavors
The porous clay of yakishime, composed of a multitude of invisible micropores, helps to round out the bitterness and astringency of the tea, particularly those related to tannins. Like Tokoname red clay teapots, it helps to clearly bring out the natural sweetness and umami of the tea.
The integrated "CeraMesh" filter, free from metallic odor
Inside, a "CeraMesh" ceramic filter, meticulously perforated by the artisan, replaces the metal filter. It therefore imparts no metallic odor to the tea. Its large surface area also reduces the risk of clogging and allows for easy pouring down to the last drop.
