Exclusive to France

Black teaIndia

TASTING NOTE

Bienvenue à Paris: The elegance of a parisian afternoon tea

This tea is an exclusive creation, conceived as a vibrant tribute to the French capital. A flowery, lively city, famous for its picturesque markets where stalls overflowing with fresh fruit perfume the streets, Paris is savored here in a blend of rare elegance, combining the strength of a CTC method black tea with the delicate scents of Parisian gardens.

SOMMELIER'S NOTE
Duo of loose black tea and CTC pellets

To support this aromatic bouquet, Lupicia has developed a unique base of Indian black teas, combining two textures:

  • Leaf tea: For the finesse and subtlety of the aromas.
  • CTC tea pearls: For strength, the deep color of the liquor, and a homogeneous structure. This combination offers a full-bodied tea, capable of carrying intense fruity notes without ever losing its character.
  • Remarkable Intensity: The black tea leaves are delicately crushed and rolled into small pearls. This process allows for a rapid and powerful release of aromas and tannins.

AROMATIC PROFILE

On the nose and palate, it's an explosion of flavors reminiscent of Parisian markets:

  • Predominantly black and red fruits: The lusciousness of raspberry and the subtle acidity of blackcurrant take center stage.
  • Terratic sweetness: Mirabelle plum, the quintessential summer fruit, brings a sweet and velvety roundness.
  • Floral finish: A few notes of rose complete the blend for a harmonious, balanced, and decidedly sophisticated result.
  • On the nose: A joyful trail of fresh fruit and a hint of old rose.
  • On the palate: A structured attack thanks to the India/CTC blend. The mid-palate is fruity and juicy, with a clean and elegant finish.
  • Liqueur: A dark and brilliant coppery color.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS THINK

A true tribute to the "City of Lights," this CTC (small pearl) black tea captivates with its fruity profile. Here are the key points most frequently mentioned in our customer reviews (Certishopping reviews, Google reviews, and tasting notes):

  • A cocktail of red berries: Customers immediately highlight the richness of the aromas. "You can taste the strawberry and raspberry right away; it's very indulgent," notes a regular customer. The flavor is described as "refined," reminiscent of the fruit pastries of top Parisian chefs.
  • The strength and roundness of CTC black tea: The CTC (small pearl) black tea base is particularly appreciated for its ability to produce an intense and dark brew. "It's a tea with body but remains very smooth on the palate," explains one review, emphasizing the absence of bitterness despite its strength.
  • The perfect breakfast tea: Thanks to its intensity, many customers have adopted it to start their day. It's described as "awakening the senses" and "very energizing," offering a fruity alternative to classic morning blends like Earl Grey or English Breakfast.
  • A marvel with a splash of milk: This is a frequently heard recommendation. "Adding a little milk transforms this tea into a smooth drink, almost like a berry milkshake," says one customer. Its robust structure allows it to stand up to milk or sugar.
In short: A "signature" black tea acclaimed for its fruity intensity and richness. It's recommended for those who enjoy teas with character, which can be enjoyed on their own or with milk for a dessert-like experience.

THE BENEFITS OF BLACK TEA

Combining the strength of black tea with the freshness of red berries offers numerous benefits for the body:

  • Energy Support (Theine): Thanks to its CTC (Controlled Transfer Cup) brewing method, this black tea is rich in theine. It provides a lasting stimulating effect, ideal for starting the day with energy or for an active afternoon break.
  • Polyphenol Concentration: Black tea is a major source of theaflavins, antioxidants that contribute to cardiovascular health and help fight cellular aging.
  • Guilt-Free Pleasure: Its fruity and floral aroma gives the impression of a sweet drink, while containing no calories. It's the perfect alternative to a dessert or soda.
  • Invigorating Hydration: A beverage that deeply hydrates while providing a feeling of freshness thanks to the notes of red berries.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR BLACK TEA?
Hot or iced tea

This versatile tea adapts to all your tasting preferences:

  • Hot Brewing: Infuse at 85°C - 95°C for 2 to 2'30 minutes. The heat will enhance the pastry notes of the mirabelle plum and the strength of the black tea. Use spring or filtered water.
  • Dosage: Use approximately 2,5g to 3g of tea (one heaped teaspoon) per 150ml of water.
  • Re-infusions: This tea can be infused up to 2 times. For subsequent infusions, you can slightly increase the temperature and reduce the time to 30 seconds.
  • Iced Tea: Bienvenue à Paris is also beautifully suited to cold brewing. As iced tea, the blackcurrant and raspberry notes become incredibly refreshing and invigorating.
